UPDATE: All works completed successfully

Due to infrastructure maintenance and upgrades, the ~okeanos service will be disrupted between 09:00 and 12:00 EET on Wednesday, December 23.

Any running Cyclades VMs will be temporarily shut down during maintenance and automatically restarted afterwards.
The Cyclades and Pithos Web UI and APIs will also be inaccessible in the above timeframe.

The upgrades are necessary to improve our services.

UPDATE: Upgrade works completed successfully

The ~okeanos datacenter will undergo an upgrade period on January 21. The upgrade will start at 17:00 EET and we expect it to last 5 hours, until 22:00 EET.
It is possible that during this period ~okeanos services (Cyclades, Pithos+) may be affected.

The upgrade works are necessary in order to address problems in our routers software and the activation of new features that will improve our services.

As you already know, we are going through a period of strong housekeeping and policy refinement on ~okeanos, since demand has over-exceeded what we expected and what our physical infrastructure can currently handle.

This, on one hand makes us very happy, and also makes the service a success, but on the other hand, the ever-growing demand pushes us to start taking measures to prevent overflow and also allow for new Academic users to enter the service.
