INTRODUCING ARCHIPELAGO
When it comes to pushing the boundaries of speed, one has to rethink the basic concepts of the backend storage technology. And if we want to talk about cloud elasticity, one has to wonder:
How can I spawn a VM with 100GB System Disk in seconds?
Or a cluster of 100 VMs in a few minutes?
Well, enter Archipelago, a new, innovative Storage Backend for your VM data. Archipelago literally means "a cluster of islands", distinct from one another yet often with the same culture and morphology.

SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE ON PITHOS
UPDATE: Maintenance completed successfully
The Cyclades and Pithos Web UI and APIs will be inaccessible on Wednesday, Apr 3 2013 09:00-16:00 EEST due to scheduled maintenance with regard to the Pithos backend storage hardware. We will be doing all the necessary actions to be able to move to a new technology in the future that will enable us to provide even more features.
Your VMs and Pithos files should remain unaffected in the above timeframe. You will also have full access to your VMs through the network during the maintenance window.
Thank you,

First of all, we changed its name. From "accounts" it is now called "~okeanos dashboard". That's because, this page will be enhanced with additional features in the future and will not stay limited to managing just your profile information. Eventually, it will be turned into a generic dashboard that will allow you to ... read moreposted by March 8, 2013, 10:06 a.m., filed under all , news , spotlight , ~okeanos

UPGRADE FINISHED
Hello ~okeanos users,
The ~okeanos upgrade finished successfully, although it took us a couple of hours more, due to an unexpected incident. There might still be some side glitches, please report them if you stumble upon them. One could say that everything would be just plain boring if the unexpected never happened, but we prefer to believe the illusion that next time we will be able to predict *everything* :)
So, we would like to thank you for your patience and will strive not only to stay on time in the future, but also ... read moreposted by March 4, 2013, 5:32 p.m., filed under all , status , ~okeanos
