BRAND NEW VIRTUAL HARDWARE FOR YOUR VMS (REBOOT REQUIRED)
Hello everybody,
Beta is closing up and new stuff is already here! Today, we upgraded the virtual hardware for your VMs in the latest and greatest version. This means that any new VMs you create will run on the new virtual hardware.
We also know that everybody would like their old machines (which are already running with old virtual hardware) to get upgraded too. So, we've got you covered too. Just reboot your old machines from the ~okeanos Web UI and they will automatically get ugraded to the new virtual hardware. Note that rebooting ... read moreposted by Dec. 9, 2013, 3:18 p.m., filed under all , news , spotlight , cyclades

1 MONTH EXTENSION FOR ACADEMIC LOGIN
Hello everybody,
After many user and institutional requests, we are extending the Academic Login activation period for a month for all ~okeanos alpha users. That is from August 11, 2013 to September 11, 2013.
It seems that as of today, almost every Greek Academic and Research Institution has enabled support for ~okeanos, so all alpha users should be able to enable the new Academic Login method on their Profile page.
So, if you want to guarantee your transition to beta, please proceed with enabling Academic Login, now.
Thank you,

So, if you are an ... read moreposted by July 11, 2013, 12:18 p.m., filed under all , news , spotlight , ~okeanos

ALPHA PHASE ENDS SUCCESSFULLY
Hello everybody,
We are very pleased to announce that today we are closing up the ~okeanos alpha phase. This means we will not be activating any more users at this point, as we will be getting ready for the official ~okeanos public beta, which will open up ~okeanos to the whole Greek academic and research community.
We are very happy that the ~okeanos alpha ends successfully. Additionally, we are content, since demand more than exceeded what we initially expected and had originally planned for. Watching the software behind ~okeanos scale to meet such high demand was also a ... read moreposted by May 27, 2013, 10:45 a.m., filed under all , news , spotlight , ~okeanos
